Cielo is a hillside community in Rancho Santa Fe, California. This village sits at the highest point along the coast giving residents views all the way from Lake Hodges to the Coronado Islands.
Cielo is comprised of many million dollar estates behind the 24 hour guard gated entrance. The clubhouse, known as Club Cielo, offers an Olympic size swimming pool as well as a fitness center. Amenities also include a barbecue area, children’s climbing wall, sand volleyball court, tennis courts, picnic pavilion, and a half basketball court. There is also a playing field at Cielo Park. The Home Owners Association dues cover maintenance as well and there is a small yearly paid Mello Roos tax.
This neighborhood is served by the Rancho Santa Fe Elementary School District and the San Dieguito Union High School District. Students have many high ranking facilities such as R. Roger Rowe Elementary, R. Roger Rowe Middle, and Torrey Pines High School. There are a few private establishments in this city like the Horizon Christian Fellowship, The Rhoades School, and The Nativity School. Neighboring cities have schools like MiraCosta College and the University of California San Diego.
To the east is The Bridges of Rancho Santa Fe, a premier golfing community. The 18-hole par-71 private course was designed by the Robert Trent Jones II Group. It is where top players once competed in the Battle at the Bridges. This club also offers tennis, fitness, and fine dining.
Just to the south you’ll find many restaurants, stores, and services. Shopping centers include Del Rayo Village Shopping Center, the West Village Shopping Center, and Fairbanks Village Plaza. Cielo Village is a shopping piazza that reflects an Old World charm with its outdoor dining and boutiques.
Rancho Santa Fe is a CDP made up of mostly residential areas with a few commercial areas and two schools. It was on the nation’s highest income list in 2010.
